Checking the throttle position sensor (TPS)

The throttle position sensor is used to determine the position of throttle body butterfly flap (open .vs closed).


The sensor is located on the passenger side of the throttle body.

Structural Check[edit]

Remove the sensor and check for any cracks or breaks within the plastic plug that wraps around the metal guide outside the throttle body.
